                          • If you get multiple ties in a row the pot does not double each time but only goes up by 1 token per round to a max of 5.
                          • Even if the pot started at 3 you are still capped at a max total bet of 5, so you can only add 2 more.
                          • Winning Hands
                            • In this game there is no such thing as suits, straights, or high card. All cards have equal value.
                            • There are only 6 different card types, so given that you are dealt 5 off the deal and can request up to 5 more, you make a pair almost every time. The 6 cards are
                              • star
                              • donut
                              • heart
                              • cupcake
                              • lollipop
                              • strawberry cream hard candy
                              • Other poker hands outside of straights and flush exist including the following, with the strongest hands at the bottom of the list:
                                • pair
                                • two pair
                                • three of a kind
                                • full house
                                • four of a kind
                                • five of a kind (I know this is a fake hand, but hey it is Candy Poker, what do you expect!)
                                • Typical outcomes
                                  • You will usually win if you have 2 pair or better.
                                  • You typically tie if you have a single pair.
                                  • You typically lose if you do not have a pair.
                                  • Coin winnings
                                    • In normal poker you win the pot which is some amount less the part the house keeps.
                                    • In this game you can win some multiple of what would be normal.
                                      • 1 pair = 2 points
                                      • 2 pair = 3 points
                                      • 3 of a kind = 4 points
                                      • full house = 6 points
                                      • 4 of a kind = 8 points
                                      • 5 of a kind = 16 points
                                      • You only win the above amounts if you win the hand. Those amounts are also multiplied by the bid amount, so if you bet 5 and got a full house that would win 30.
                                        • If the hand is a push then nobody is awarded points & the next hand adds another point to your bet.
                                        • If you lose the hand you get no reward.
                                        • Basic Strategy
                                          • This game is much less complex than actual poker, so it is easy to win.
                                          • If you have at least 10 coins increase your bet to 5 on any hand which is 3 of a kind or better.
                                          • If you have at least 15 coins increase your bet to 5 on any hand which is 2 pair or better.
                                          • If you have 50 or more points saved you can even bet 5 when you only have a pair.
                                          • Draw new cards for any cards which are not part of a pair or better.
                                          • Target Audience
                                            • This game is a good fit for younger kids due to its simplicity & how frequently they will win.
                                              • This game is dramatically oversimplified in ways that would frustrate adults who regularly played poker (player can draw 5 cards, can’t bet after additional cards are dealt, no suits, no rank order of cards, bet limit of 5, single computer opponent, no folding option, 5 of a kind hand, winning multiples of the pot with a good hand, etc.).
                                              • Other than the concept of gambling there are no adult themes in this game. However in this game there isn’t even technically a shared pot – only your bet. Further, even the gambling concept uses unnamed tokens rather than actual money and the game can be useful for helping to teach pattern recognition, attention to detail, and probability.
